Strawberry Smoothie

By Ange's Table

Hello again Saturday.

There is always so much I want to accomplish on Saturday.  I honestly feel that we all need a day to do nothing.

Like lay around in your jammies, but please brush your teeth.  Watch pointless TV and snack all day long.  But sadly, that is not Saturday.

On Saturdays, its laundry, and chores, and backyard maintenance, and anything we were too tired to do after work, and on and on.

I can’t say that I have ever forgotten to eat.  I love food way too much for anything like that.  But I am so busy that I just plain do not want to stop what I am doing, to cook a meal.

My smoothie comes in again to save the day.  Especially on those days when you open the fridge, and don’t want any of the 67 choices in there.  Throw some fruit in the blender, add a little ice and milk, and my belly is happy.  Plus it tastes like a treat.

I know I know, there are the purists out there that will say without protein powder, it is not a meal replacement.  Why?  Fruit and yogurt are acceptable for breakfast.  No one says “Sprinkle some protein powder on that dear.”

Do you put protein powder in you smoothie? I feel satisfied after having a smoothie,  Maybe it is the added fiber of oat milk?

Banana, strawberries, dates, coconut
All blended up
Pretty color too
With optional cocoa powder

Strawberry Smoothie

  • 1 small banana
  • 5-6 strawberries, hulled
  • 4 dates, pitted
  • 2 Tbsp shredded coconut
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 cup oat milk
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder (optional)

Add all items to your blender, according to the manufacturer recommendations.

Blend until smooth. Enjoy!
