Good morning to you. How are you today?
I hope you get to have a relaxing weekend, doing the things that you enjoy.
Today I want to share a quick side dish, that can be made to your taste. Broccoli Rabe is a green vegetable that we eat frequently in our house. I grew up eating it, and I love it. We all have that bitter green veggie in our lives, and this is mine.
Lately, I have been craving spicy foods. Normally I do not eat spicy foods, because I stay away from most nightshades. But I try to listen to my body, and I do check myself before eating something new or different. And my body was saying “YES! Give me that Sambal.” So thats exactly what I did.

Spicy Broccoli Rabe
- 1 bunch broccoli rabe, blanched
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp sambal olek, or more to taste
- 1 tsp seasoned salt mix
- 3-4 Tbsp olive oil
Heat oil in a pan, add in garlic and sambal. Mix well.
Once the oil becomes fragrant, add in blanched broccoli rabe. Mix well in the flavored oil.
Cover, cook 5-10 minutes until the broccoli rabe is heated through and coated in all the flavored oil.
Enjoy!
