Hello and good morning to you.
I pray you have a peaceful, relaxing Sunday. Get your mind and body ready for the week ahead.
Today I have a quick side dish, that pairs well with most everything. Sauteed Purple Cabbage is not only delicious, but makes your plate beautiful as well.
Do you try to eat the rainbow every day? That is exactly what I try to do. I do not take vitamin supplements, because I want to get my vitamins from the whole foods that I eat.
I truly feel that if we eat a variety of colors in our foods, then we will have the best chance of getting all of the wonderful nutrients that our bodies need to thrive.
My body will crave “green and orange” during my monthly cycle. Most often I will make broccoli and stuff it in a sweet potato. It is clear to me that during those times, I need more iron, calcium, vitamins A and C, that come from broccoli. Along with potassium, beta carotene, manganese and the other vitamins and minerals found in sweet potato.
Listen to your body. If you are craving something, it is your body’s way of saying “Hey, I need this.” Hmm, do you think the same works for Chocolate Cake?

Sauteed Purple Cabbage
- 1/2 head purple cabbage, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 tsp seasoned salt mix
- 2 capfuls apple cider vinegar
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
Heat the olive oil in a pan.
Add in cabbage, onion, salt mix and vinegar. Cook together, stirring occasionally over medium heat, until the cabbage starts to soften.
Enjoy!
We served this Sauteed Purple Cabbage as a side to simple grilled chicken breast. How will you serve this delicious side dish?
