Saturday Morning Smoothie

Hi Saturday. Its so nice to see you!!
Today will be like any other Saturday. I will do laundry, prep food for the week. Do some work on the blog. And all of the other things that need to get done. Unfortunately, feeding myself is sometimes forgotten in the hectic day.
I remember before I had to change my diet due to my allergies, I would NEED to eat. There was no such thing as forgetting to eat. My sugar would drop. I would get lightheaded, and need to stop whatever it was I was doing to eat. I would usually grab for a handful of those chocolate candies with the peanuts in the middle to get over the shaking of my hands. Little did I know the vicious cycle I was helping to keep my body in.
Now I eat a whole foods diet. I understand the importance of my food being fuel to power me. So that I can accomplish all of my tasks on Saturday, so I can lounge on Sunday.
This smoothie keeps me satisfied while I am SuperMom. (SuperMom takes off on Sunday. )
Banana Coconut Smoothie
- 1 banana
- 4 dates, pitted
- 2 Tbsp coconut butter, or 4 Tbsp shredded coconut
- 1/8 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1 cup oat milk
Add smoothie ingredients to your blender. Process until smooth.
Since there is so much coconut in this smoothie, it really keeps me satisfied for hours.
