My 4 Legged Best Friend
Good morning to you.
How are you doing today? I pray your week has started off great!
Do you have a pet? Cat, dog, bird? We have a cat in our house. Her name is Ms. Gersey. She is the cutest little kitty ever.
We adopted Ms. Gersey from the Liberty Humane Society 2 years ago. She was just about 5 when she picked us to be her fur-ever family, and I am so gosh darn happy that she did.
Since the COVID pandemic, I have been home. In that time, Ms Gersey has become my shadow. I even find her outside the bathroom door every morning.
I am so thankful that I have been able to change jobs and work from home now. Gg is the best coworker anyone can ask for.
She sits on my lap with me while I am working, so that I never feel alone.
And Gersey is a great watch-cat as well. Nothing will get to me while she is on watch.
Those squirrels and birds don’t stand a chance with Gersey on watch duty.
If you are feeling sick, or lonely, Gersey is there to comfort you. All the times I have been sick, and with my most recent need for surgery in the beginning of this year, Gersey was by my side, or on my shoulder the entire time.
Do your pets know when you need extra comfort too?
In the morning, she never wants to get out of bed. It is quite the change that I am dragging someone else out of bed in the morning. That used to be me.
Owning a pet is one of the most rewarding things a person can do. They love you unconditionally. They can sense when you need some extra love, and when you need to be left alone.
Gersey is not just our pet, she is a part of our family. I am so glad that she has been here with us during this time. It has definitely made staying home more interesting.
If you have the means, and the room in your heart, adopt a pet. They will bring more love and happiness into your life than you ever thought possible.
