Homemade Baking Powder

Can you believe July is already gone? Where did the time go?
Today I have a really quick and simple recipe for you.
Most times when you need to buy baking powder in the store, it has corn starch in it. If you are like me and allergic to corn, this is no bueno. I have found “gourmet” baking powder online, but the prices they charge for it are out of control.
Did you know that baking powder is really only 2 ingredients? Yup, that’s all. We need baking soda, and cream of tartar. That’s it folks.
All you need to remember is the 2:1 ratio. 2 parts cream of tartar to 1 part baking soda. Shake it up, and there you go. Baking powder for all of your baking needs.
So next time you are ready to bake that cake, but ran out of baking powder, you don’t have to make a trip to the store.
