Do you have a BBQ? Or do you have a grill? I know what I have is technically a gas grill, but I say I’m BBQing. I know, I know, for some using my gas grill and calling it BBQ is sacrilegious. Its okay, its only food words. It wont hurt you. Promise.
Having different options, especially options that are safe for someone with food allergies is very important. Eating the same thing all the time gets really boring. I LOVE to eat. I live to eat. I don’t want to eat to live.
BBQ is one of my favorite things to eat. If you go to a BBQ joint, and ask them what they use in their rub, they will never tell you all of their secrets. And I get that. But when I am allergic to 564678 things, I need to know. I don’t want to steal your recipe, I just want to make sure I can make it to the end of my pork. Or brisket. Maybe a sausage or two. YUM!
This is my version of BBQ rub. My friends and family love this one. I know yours will too.

Ange’s BBQ Rub
- 1 1/2 Tbsp cane sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- 1 tsp chipotle powder
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 Tbsp onion powder
- 4 Tbsp garlic powder
Add all your ingredients to a jar or bowl.
Mix well.
Shake liberally over your favorite meat or vegetable.
This rub is so flavorful, with a hint of spice.
